Forest Fun - Adventures in the Forest

The Forest, which encapsulates the magical spirit conjured up by the books of JK Rowling and JRR Tolkien was designed in the most part by TV gardener and land artist Ivan Hicks. The Forest can be reached by either canal boat or on foot.

Crusoe’s World

Crusoe’s World was inspired by TV series Crusoe. Original props from this TV series were reconstructed at Groombridge Place.

Two tree houses are linked together with rope bridges and a central viewing tower. They are on several levels with decking and platforms, sheltered under sail roofs. There is a lookout post high above one of the tree houses, providing fabulous views over the canal, open countryside and the steam trains of the Spa Valley Railway. New to summer: Captain Robinson Crusoe has docked his ship at Crusoe's World. Adventure onto his ship, climb up the mast to the crows nest, steer the ship at the wheel, and ring the bell when land is ahoy.

Treetops Walkway Experience

Have a fun filled adventure in the tree-tops of Groombridge Place as you take the incredible 350m long journey through the tree canopy 20m above the forest floor.

The exhilarting new adventure walkway is like no other in South East of England and the magical experience will simply take your breath away as you climb higher and higher along the ropes into the tree canopy of the huge Oak, Pine, Beech and Chestnut trees which make up this ancient forest. The exciting tree-top climb will take at least 30 minutes to complete and the 360 degree views are spectacular.

Adults are required to purchase a ticket to take younger children on the Treetops Walkway.

Responsible children can take to the ropes on their own. Sensible footware must be worn to do the Treetop Walkway (E.G. no heels, sandals or flip-flops)
